Snake
Year of the snake © Sue Pownall 2013
Just for fun, a drawing to celebrate the Chinese New Year, which since Sunday is the year of the snake.

Reference photo from BBC Nature site.
Chinese followers- I apologise for the bad calligraphy.

Last year's Chinese New Year's drawing can be viewed here:

Whilst you are here, you can see my first drawing of 2013, a commission, in Gallery 1.

I'd love to know what you think of that and/or the snake.  Please leave a comment by clicking "comments" under the title. Thank you.

Lovely, calm, and controlled---- both drawings. Drawing must be a contemplative process for you. I sometimes long for that!

Thanks Laura. Yes it is, but it often takes me a long time to be able to sit down in the first place.

I loved your dragon, and I love this year's snake too! Wonderful how the cross hatching gives an extra texture of snake skin.
